Plastic Tumbling Media for Soft Metal Finishing
受取は現在不可能です
Plastic tumbling media is used for softer metals such as brass or aluminum. It provides a very smooth surface finish but results in a matte appearance with a slight sheen.
Plastic media is 30% lighter than ceramic media, resulting in less damage to the workpiece. Plastic media does not discolor metals and effectively removes burrs. This type of media performs well in pre-plating treatments.

Applications
Plastic Tumbling Media Applications
Plastic tumbling media is widely used for mass finishing applications where controlled cutting, edge protection and surface refinement are required.
- Aluminum Parts
Suitable for deburring, edge rounding and surface smoothing of CNC machined aluminum components and cast aluminum parts.
Brass & Copper Parts
Used to remove machining burrs and improve surface uniformity while reducing aggressive contact with relatively soft metal surfaces.
Zinc Die Castings
Plastic media can be used for deburring, deflashing and surface preparation of zinc die-cast components.
Plastic & 3D Printed Parts
Suitable for smoothing rough surfaces, removing light flash and improving the appearance of molded and 3D printed plastic components.
Precision Machined Components
Different plastic media geometries can be selected to reach corners, grooves and recessed features while maintaining controlled finishing action.
Pre-Plating & Pre-Coating Finishing
Plastic media can be used as part of surface preparation processes before plating, coating, painting or anodizing, depending on the required surface condition.
Plastic Media Cutting Grades
Plastic finishing media is available in different cutting grades to accommodate different surface conditions and finishing objectives.

Frequently asked questions
What is plastic tumbling media?
Plastic tumbling media is an abrasive-filled polymer media used in vibratory finishing and other mass finishing processes. It is commonly used for deburring, edge rounding, deflashing and surface smoothing.
What materials can plastic tumbling media finish?
Plastic media is commonly used with aluminum, brass, copper, zinc die castings, plastic components and other parts where controlled finishing is required.
Is plastic media suitable for aluminum?
Yes. Plastic media is commonly selected for aluminum because its lower density and controlled cutting action can help reduce excessive surface damage during deburring and smoothing.
What is your minimum order quantity and lead time?
- MOQ: 25kg per size/shape/grade combination
- Recommended Order: 500kg+ for shipping efficiency
- Lead Time: 15-20 days for 1-20 tons (standard 20mm media)
- Larger Orders: Contact us for lead time on 20+ tons
- Sample Orders: Starting at 25 kilograms, Available for testing before bulk order
Can I use plastic media in a vibratory finishing machine?
Yes. Plastic tumbling media is commonly used in vibratory finishing machines. Media selection should be matched to the machine type, part material, part geometry and desired finish.
How long does plastic tumbling media last?
Media life depends on the cutting grade, machine, cycle time, compound, part material and finishing intensity. More aggressive cutting applications generally consume media faster.
How do I select the right plastic media for my parts?
Send us your part material, part size, photos, burr condition, current finishing process and desired surface finish. We can recommend a suitable media shape, size and cutting grade.
